Dominican pianist, composer, and arranger Josean Jacobo brings his innovative Latin jazz to The JazzLab. Blending traditional Afro-Dominican rhythms with influences from New York, New Orleans, and Santo Domingo, Jacobo’s music has been described as “intoxicating, unpredictable, and exciting” (Glide Magazine).
For this special performance, Jacobo collaborates with ARIA-nominated Australian group ALLY, featuring saxophonist Gai Bryant, trombonist James Greening, percussionist Giorgio Rojas, and bassist Harry Birch. Together, they deliver a dynamic fusion of styles, showcasing the power of modern improvisation and cross-cultural connection.
