05 - 14 MARCH 2021

Full Program

Coming Tuesday 2 February

After being paused mid-dance in 2020, we’re pleased to hit play on live music again in 2021.

In a shorter 10-day format from March 5-14 (taking in the Labour Day long weekend) BMF 2021 will focus on creating opportunities for people to gather and connect IRL with a stacked program of live music experiences.

The line-up will drop Tuesday February 2 but in the meantime, we can reveal that an exciting new outdoor venue at a secret location in Brunswick will be the centrepiece of the program.

In addition to this breezy new location, the program will prioritise celebrating Brunswick’s amazing live music venues, all of which suffered greatly during Melbourne’s periods of prolonged lockdown and which we all missed so badly.

With beloved musical festivals like Golden Plains and Port Fairy Folk Festival on unavoidable temporary hiatus, BMF will be doing all it can to bridge the gap and contribute to helping the local community find its feet.

Since the needle skipped on 2020’s event the world as we know it has turned upside down. Now more than ever, music and opportunities to come together feel essential and the principles BMF is built on – neighbourhood and community, inclusivity, diversity and sustainability along with creating a sense of place and safe spaces – are less like ideals and more like non-negotiables.

BMF 2021 is set to comprise a collective exhale, a healthy dose of togetherness, a huge cup of joy and some really, really, really exciting live music experiences.

Watch this space.
