Juliette Lalli Signs Off From Brunswick Music Festival & Coburg Night Market After Two Impactful Years

After two years as Live Music and Performance Programmer for Brunswick Music Festival and Coburg Night Market, Juliette Lalli is wrapping up her time with Merri-bek City Council.

Juliette’s programming tenure has left a powerful legacy across both festivals - pushing boundaries, platforming underrepresented artists, and creating events that deeply connected to place.

At Brunswick Music Festival, she brought headline performances from international favourites WITCH, MJ Lenderman, and Bahamadia, as well as local favourites like Miss Kaninna and Elsy Wameyo. She reimagined Gilpin Park as a go-to summer music venue, welcomed new event formats like At the Altar of Us (a queer showcase at Brunswick Uniting Church), and embedded local talent throughout a nine-day program of over 40 shows in 2025.

Over at Coburg Night Market, Juliette curated a live music program that delivered something for everyone - from high-energy punk to soulful harmonies and late-night dancefloor moments. In 2024, her programming helped draw nearly 30,000 attendees across three nights at Bridges Reserve, featuring acts like Cong Josie and the Hellracers, Halo Vocal Ensemble, Wrong Way Up, MAGNETS, and KOSMETIKA.

“Juliette’s time with us has been defined by thoughtful curation, community care, and a deep understanding of what makes Merri-bek’s music scene so unique,” said Naretha Williams, Executive Producer - Festivals at Merri-bek City Council. “She’s helped push the boundaries of what’s possible within council-produced events and has left a meaningful mark on both the program and the community.”

Beyond her council work, Juliette is known for her advocacy in the live music sector, with past roles including programmer at Grampians Music Festival, band booker at The Retreat Hotel, and work on events like the Reclink Community Cup. She is also the manager of genre-hopping local outfit EGGY and a tireless champion for gender-diverse, First Nations, and emerging artists.

Juliette’s programs consistently offered something truly special for the community. Merri-bek City Council thanks Juliette for her incredible contribution and wishes her all the best in what comes next.

The Live Music and Performance Programmer role will be advertised via Merri-bek City Council shortly.
